Back Pain - Alternative Medicine
Back pain interrupts millions of peoples life every day.
I have experienced excruciating pain in my lower, back and neck with random frequency.
I never know when it will act up. The common phrased uses is, "my back as gone out.
I was in my thirties before my first episode and it was horrible. I couldn't move any part of my body without pain.
If I moved it felt like I was about to die. I don't think I have ever experienced such pain.
Of course, I tried pain pills, strong pain pills and they really didn't do any thing but make me sick. I had to sleep on a board and stay completely still for days.
Finally I decide to try talking to a back surgeon about my back pain.
I managed to work my ways slowly into the doctor's office. The waiting room was full.
I mean it was full to the brim. I couldn't believe so many people decided surgery to be the answer to back problems. Sitting in the waiting room I began to talk to other patients.
Some of the people in the office had already had back surgery and I was interested to find out if it had worked. One man I talked to was there for his third back surgery. I listened intently to him talk about the surgery and pain.
After he finished I got up, went to the front desk and canceled my appointment. I wasn't about to allow anyone to operate on my back with no promise of the surgery working.
I know surgery helps some people but it is not for everyone. There are alternatives to any problem, even back pain.
I am going to give you a few ways to relieve back pain without pills or surgery. No, it might not work for everyone and if you need to see a doctor then go see a doctor.
The Alexander Technique
What is the Alexander Technique? Honestly, I knew about this practice but I had no idea it had a name. Let me give you the definition.
According to an article on Oohoi.com "The Alexander technique is actually a method to relieve the pain and stress caused by the way we have misused our body during daily activities.
A lot of people are confused by the pain on their back. They questioned why they have such a bad posture or why they just cannot walk properly.
They often see problems in their joints or muscles as something that is natural and unchangeable. If you have this problem, learn the Alexander Technique. You will change the way you walk, fix of your posture and reduce the muscle pain that you have been suffering for years.
The Alexander Technique I have never attended a class on this technique but I have used adjusting my posture for pain relief. I use a round pillow in the small of my back while watching TV, typing or riding in the car. It keeps my back in proper alignment.

Chiropractic Care For Pain in the Back
div After trying normal procedures for the pain in my lower back I tried Chiropractic medicine. It worked. I mean after a few adjustments my back was ok. I didn't have any back pain.
I still practiced good posture but for the most part my pain disappeared. However, you have to find an honest Chiropractic Doctor. I went to one Chiropractic Doctor who wanted me to keep coming back in order to use up all my insurance money.
There are good Chiropractors and bad ones. If you are not satisfied with one try another. This is one alternative to surgery and addictive medicine. For more information on this type treatment follow this link. Chiropractic therapy
Massage Therapy
The last time my back started to hurt I tried massage therapy by a licensed therapist. For years my conception of massage therapy was distorted.
I thought they were all... well you know what I thought. When searching for a massage therapist make sure they are honest and professional. How was that for not saying what I wanted to say.
A good friend of mine is a massage therapist. She kept telling me it would work but I still wasn't sure. Finally, I told her I would try a massage. She came over to my house, with a portable table and she gave me through therapeutic massage and it worked great.
Whenever my old back goes out I use a massage therapist. For more information on this art follow this link.http://www.oohoi.com/physical_therapy/massage/massage.htm

Regardless of what type pain you might be suffering from alternative methods exist.
I have discovered it is not what you take for pain it is what you do for the pain.
Most pain pills have serious side affects, like addiction.
In addition to addiction there are many more serious consequences to using pain killers.
Let me encourage you to seek out alternative methods. However, I am not a doctor don't pretend to be a doctor.
If you think you need a licensed Medical Doctor then go to one.
I have told you my own experiences and they are only my way of dealing with my lower back pain.
