One of many benefits of going green is that you can get Tax Credits
The federal government is rewarding those who decided to utilize energy efficient products and materials.
This is a tremendous opportunity to save a few dollars if you are remodeling or building a new home.
My suggestion is if you are thinking about remodeling do it while you can save a few tax dollars in the process.
If you are in the mood and market to re-model now is the time.
According to the reports Tax Credits are available at 30% of the cost up to $1,500, in 2009 & 2010 (for existing homes only) for:
- Energy efficient windows and doors
- Insulation
- Roofs (Metal and Asphalt)
- HVAC
- Water Heaters (non-solar)
- Biomass Stoves
The same offer exist on existing homes and new construction for:
- Geothermal Heat Pumps
- Solar Panels
- Solar Water Heaters
- Small Wind Energy Systems and Fuel Cells
