Environmental Protection - Green Police
Environmental Protection - Tons of news floating around these days about the EPA and new regulations and the legitimacy of the EPA to act with out Congressional approval.
Gee, sounds like we might have a few problems. The truth is we need legislation regarding emissions but do we need another police agency in our Government.
Gosh, we have the FBI, CIA, Home Land Security, ATF, IRS and many others. I know there must be about a thousand agencies who help us stay in line.
I can't remember anymore agencies but it looks like we might have to answer to EPA Green Police.
Yes, we need to be responsible and yes we need to cut down on emission but good Lord, let the states have a choice and allow the people to make a few decisions without fear of reprisal from some weird Government agency stepping in.
I wonder if I will be usher off to some prison camp for voicing my opinion. If so, William Yeatman will have to go with me because he said it first. Read the article below placed on Fox News.

Get ready for the green police. Today, the Environmental Protection Agency will commit itself to becoming an environmentalist Big Brother, like a not-so-jolly green giant.
This afternoon, the EPA is expected to announce new, more stringent fuel efficiency targets for automakers.
The regulations are bad enough—they force people to buy smaller cars, which results in increased vehicular fatalities—but it gets worse. The EPA's announcement will mark the first time that it has used its authority under the Clean Air Act to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.
That's a big deal, because the Clean Air Act is written such that regulation triggers more regulation. Thus, today's announcement on fuel efficiency is like reaching critical mass in a regulatory chain reaction, and the result is a weapon of massive economic destruction. The new rules are forecast to save the average buyer of a 2016 model year car $3,000 over the lifetime of the vehicle. EPA estimates that nationally, it has the potential to conserve about 1.8 billion barrels of oil and reduce nearly a billion tons of GHG emissions over the lives of the vehicles.
The new rules also simplify the old system because they establish one clear standard for all automakers, instead of the three separate standards used prior: DOT, EPA, and a state standard.
Fuel economy standards are increased under the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) program which is a part of the DOT's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions standards are established under the Clean Air Act.
Today's final rules will apply to vehicles produced from 2012 through 2016.
