Warning of Toxic Chemicals on Fast Food Place

Fast Food Trash

Many times I have walked into fast food joints, glanced at the above sign warming about the chemicals and then ate the junk. Who wants to believe we are being poisoned?

The truth is in the window. The junk served in this joints are loaded with chemicals known to cause cancer and other serious illnesses in humans. If this isn't true why would the State of California demand by law that each store display a sign warning about the chemicals in the food and beverages?

This is a scary subject. Think about it, major companies in the USA actually deceiving the masses for profit. I can't believe I have eaten so many nasty hamburgers.

What do we do? One recourse is to urge our legislators to pass laws to protect us from big business. But at the same time how much money do these corporations spend on manipulating our government to pass laws allowing them to deceive us for profit.

Another recourse is to stop spending our cash on junk food and buy real food.

How Science is used to Deceive

The following article will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

Tuesday, January 06, 2009 by: Richard Stacel, citizen journalist

The meat and other foods sold at fast food restaurants bears little to no resemblance to actual freshly cut meat. Food scientists employ a number of very deceptive and clever techniques to fool the senses into thinking that such foods are tasty and healthy. Science has discovered many chemicals that can exactly emulate the smells of fresh foods found in nature.

For example; Ethyl-2-methyl butyrate smells just like an apple. Adding methyl-2-peridylketone makes something taste like popcorn. Ethyl-3- hydroxybutanoate makes something taste like marshmallow. On and on these combination's go and it can all be done without effecting the appearance or nutritional value of the processed foods. These ingredients can be listed as "natural flavors" on the labels, even on foods that are listed as "organic"

These chemicals are toxic and can be related to serious illnesses. Fast Food Poison

Billions Spent on Advertizing

The pictures of hamburgers, fries and drinks look so good and tasty when flashed across the screen of your TV a million times. The advertising by the fast food mills are the best advertisements money can buy. I don't have the actual figures or budgets but you and I both know they spend a fortune convincing us to eat their junk.

Unfortunately, billion dollar fast food food companies continue to saturate the public with advertisements, much of which is targeted toward children and youth.

It is no secret our nation is over weight. Children seem to be the prime target for most fast food corporations. They don't care if our kids get fat. The companies are greed motivated and unless laws are passed forbidding them to lie about the nutritional value of the food we will see more over weight kids and adults.

California Leads the Way

California Fast Food Restaurants to Include Nutritional Information on Menusby Zack Kaldveer, Consumer Federation of CaliforniaJuly 1st, 2009

California has just become – thanks to last year’s signing of a landmark public health bill - the first state in the nation to force restaurants with at least 20 locations to provide nutritional information about the food they serve, such as number of calories and grams of saturated and trans fats.

Today (July 1st, 2009) marks the beginning of the first phase of the new law, which requires restaurants to include their menu’s nutritional information only in their brochures. Phase two – the inclusion of this information on menu boards – will take effect in 2011. Article

Stop Eating Fast Food

The solution is simple. Stop eating junk food. I know this sounds simple and it is if you are willing to go green.

Alternatives to junk food are available and affordable. You can find good affordable restaurants which serve quality food. You might pay a little more but it will be worth it. If all else fails buy healthy food and eat at home.

Your health and the health of your children are worth the effort.
