Organic Farming: Priscilla's Thoughts on Solving Global Hunger!

The Union of Concerned Scientists published a report by Rodale's institute (nonprofit organization who work with soil scientists and researchers) that organic green revolution can solve global hunger. "The report cites a study of small-scale farmers in 57 countries whose yields increased by an average 79 percent when they used sustainable agriculture techniques and other research in developing countries that found organic farming was two to three times more productive than conventional farming. Rodale's research farm in Pennsylvania has found that organically grown corn and soybeans are more resistant to drought, outperforming conventional crops by 30 percent and 50 to 100 percent respectively. "(UCS citizens and scientists for Environmental Solutions) stop global hunger Bottom line: organic methods restore nutrients in our soil, improve chemical properties, increase biodiversity, less vulnerable to erosion, better water capacity, minimizes water or air pollution, less expenses in pollution cleanup, and more nutrients in the food we eat than conventional methods. I strongly support this because of the facts. Believe in science and research! Learn more about the study here in pdf rodale institute
