Organic Tea - Why the Fuss?
I was sitting here thinking about Organic Green Tea! I looked over at my wife and ask, "what is so special about green tea?" I honestly don't know a cotton picking thing about green tea.
Is it green, actually green or does the term green mean it is healthy?
My wife responded to the question after looking at me with this strange look, like you have a top ranked green website and you don't know what green tea is.
Now, she didn't say that with her words but she sure said it with her face.
Anyways she told me green organic tea is a young tea leaf used to make a healthy tea drink. I don't know if she is right or not but it sounds good.
But, now I have to research it a little and find out the truth. If she is wrong I will rejoice.
WikiPedia says, "Green tea is a type of tea made solely with the leaves of Camellia sinensis that has undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green tea originates from China and has become associated with many cultures in Asia from Japan to the Middle East.
Recently, it has become more widespread in the West, where black tea is traditionally consumed. Many varieties of green tea have been created in countries where it is grown. These varieties can differ substantially due to variable growing conditions, processing and harvesting time."Organic Tea Green - WikiPedia
Notice it didn't say a word about a young tea leave. I don't think I will tell my wife she is wrong. Oh maybe I will I don't know. Anyways, I think I will do a little more research. I am curious about why so many people are spending a fortune on green tea.
What are the benefits of Green Tea?
I just read that green tea actually has more caffeine than coffee. OK, well I think I might try a dash of green tea. I do drink a lot of coffee so maybe a little green tea wouldn't hurt.
Orgnic tea is tea grown without any pesticides. If you are going to drink coffee or tea it should be grown organically.

About.Com Now that sounds a little more interesting. I have suffered from depression but never heard of green organic tea as a treatment. I think I will try some in the morning instead of coffee.
University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. There is also research indicating that drinking green organic tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.
