Panda Bear - The Cutest Bear on Earth
Panda Bear GGFL - January 25, 2010
It is really hard to believe this wonderful creature is about to vanish.
However, according my research only 700- 1000 giant bears are still alive in the wild.
To me, they look weak and too odd to be able to take care of themselves yet that is not true.
The Panda bear, like other bears is fully capable of taking care of itself but the problem with endangerment comes from poaching, habitat loss and problem recreating.
It would take a cold person to kill a Panda. I know one animal is know different from another but when you look into the sad eyes of one of these bears, who could pull the trigger, I couldn't.
It's The Law!
In 1984, the Giant Panda was listed as an endangered species under the Endangered Species Act by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. This protection prohibits Giant Pandas from being imported into the United States except under certain conditions.theinsight.org
The Giant Panda is also protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), a treaty aimed at controlling illegal trade in endangered animal and plant species.
What You Can Do To Help!
The giant panda's problems make it a classic endangered species. It will not survive human impact without human assistance. We must take strong measures to protect not only this animal but every species and the habitat they depend upon. So get on it!
