Sea Level Rising - How Much?

It is no secret that sea level is raising and glaciers are melting.

The world is being threatened by the warming of the globe.

It doesn't matter whether or not you believe in global warming the truth is water levels are rising and will continue to rise higher and higher.

The real question we need answered is how high will the water rise, whatdo we do when it does and how do we stop the rise in water?

I guess those of us who live next to the oceans can buy house boats.

Seriously, this problem is a reality and we need to make preparations, do what we can to stop it and be prepared.

Sea Level Millions of people live along the world's coast lines. If you live close to an ocean you should begin to make plans on what you will do when it does rise. The sea level is getting higher and do what you can to stop it.

According to an article written by Jeremy Hance, Mongabay Published December 15, 2009 09:55 "A new study by the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Program estimates that the sea will rise by 0.5 to 1.5 meters by 2100, threatening coastal cities and flooding island nations.

This is double the predicted rise estimated by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on climate Change(IPCC) in 2007, which did not incorporate sea level rise due to the melting of Greenland and Antarctica's ice sheets.

We need to do what we can to stop the green house effect now if our sons and daughters and their children areto enjoy the same quality of life we have enjoyed

Don't be fooled into thinking we have one hundred years before the affect of global warming reaches the US mainland.

Knowledge is worthless unles s the knowledge is used.

It has been reported in Science Daily (May 28, 2009) - Melting of the Greenland ice sheet this century may drive more water than previously thought toward the already threatened coastlines of New York, Boston, Halifax, and other cities in the northeastern United States and Canada, according to new research led by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR).

It is time to wake up and start taking this seriously.

Yes, some still hang onto theassumption that global warming is not real.

However, whether it is manmade or not the truth is the planet is getting warmer and the water is rising.

green tree This not the first time the world has been through a change in temperature and weather.

This weather change is coming and is here according to Science Daily.com,September 1, 2007 - Geographers have projected temperature increases due to greenhouse gas emissions to reach a not-so-chilling conclusion: climate zones will shift and some climates will disappear completely by 2100.

Tropical highlands and Polar Regions may be the first to disappear, and large swaths of the tropics and subtropics will reach even hotter temperatures.

The study anticipates large climate changes worldwide.

We need to take this threat serious and start doing all we can to stop carbon emissions and make plans to change with the changes in water levels around the world.
