Stop Struggling - Rivers of LifeThe Rivers of Life Psalms 31: 1 In You, O Lord, I have taken refuge. Stop Struggling - The sound of the raging river is deafening. You have to keep your head above water but even with your life jacket on you can't seem to stay up. The water is moving so fast and rocks clutter the path. You struggle hard against the current but the more you struggle the less strength you have to stay above the water. You kick, scream, and trash your arms around desperately trying to escape the rivers hold on you but all seems hopeless you are going to drown if you continue to resist the river. Suddenly you are aware of a voice from the bank screaming, "Relax, don't struggle just let the river take you where it's going." You continue to fight the water but finally out of exhaustion you let go and let the river take control. Your life jacket holds you head above the water. Your muscles relax and you find new energy. After a short time, the river takes you to a calm pool and you are able to crawl to the bank, safe. Life is like a raging river. The things you have to do in life are at times are unpleasant and you really struggle to find a way to get out of doing what you know you have to do. When you struggle against life, life takes control. When you resist, struggle, and fight the currents, whatever they maybe be, you lose strength and want to quit. When you let go and let God, control life then you find new strength to endure the hardships of life. Prayer Focus: I let go and let God control my life.
