Out of the mouth of babes. If the world could see through the eyes of children we would be in much better shape environmentally.
Recently I read a statement about going green from a 6th grader.
Why Go Green
"Some people feel it is a thing that a good citizen would do, but alot of people do it for the community. when people " go green" it means they are making a choice to stop polluting and start helping. People will recycle, clean up and make a cycle of doing these things. People who are going green use recycled materials, plant trees and plants, help clean water and the side of the roads, and help make things out of recycled objects.

Why to go green is in the media every day. I have discovered the term "going green" means different things to different people.

"Environmentalism, is a broad philosophy and social movement regarding concerns for environmental conservation and improvement of the state of the environment. Environmentalism and environmental concerns are often represented with the color green. An informal or derogatory label for environmentalists is the term "greenie".
Interesting don't you think? I have never thought of myself as a greenie but I guess I am.
Why Go Green
We, the staff of Going Green for Life came up with our own definition.
Going green is a way of life. Going green means returning to the natural, healthy methods of living. It means breathing fresh air, eating healthy foods, conserving our environment, our forest and wild life and using alternative medicines when possible. the term involves using common sense.
If you change your own oil don't dump the oil from your car in the river. Use a water filter in your home. Take a clothe bag to the store and use all natural cleaners in the home or make your own cleaners out of natural ingredients. Come on, going green is not that difficult.

Why Go Green? - The Benefits are Enormous to mankind and the ecosystem. Green Living is Your Choice
Benefits:
1. We will have a healthier planet. Simply put, if you reduce the amount of pollution in the air we will reduce global warming. Oh, you don't believe in global warming. That's ok just stay with us for a while.
2. We will have a constant supply of fresh water to drink. Right now in many parts of the world fresh water, drinking water is running out.

In 2007, Lake Superior, one of the world's largest freshwater lakes, dropped to its lowest level in 80 years. California has a 20-year supply of freshwater left. New Mexico has 10 years' worth. Experts say those problems represent more than a temporary drought. In fact, the Environmental Protection Agency warns that if current water use continues unchecked, 36 states will suffer water shortages within the next five years."
3. We will improve our health. However, it's a war that overlooks how the environment in which people live and work affects whether they get cancer." Green Food
4. We will save money. Turning to a green life style will save money. The health bills alone will be reduced if we eat healthy foods, breath healthy air and drink clean water. Think about the money you spend on gas. Go to an electric car and count the savings. It is a fact, going green will save in the long run.

Is there any reason or justification in your mind keeping you from a healthier life style? When you think about it there is no reason. We must take care and improve our planet!
We must take our health and the health of others into consideration.
We must conserve our fresh water, reduce the amount of pollution in the air and in our water.
With that in mind why don't you get on board. You will reap tremendous benefits from living a natural, clean life.
Decide today to be a good steward of all God has given.

Monarch Butterflies - The Magnificent

Today, November 10, 2009 my wife and I beheld the splendor, mystery and majesty of Monarch Butterflies.
We were in Pismo Beach, California, the winter home of 1000's of monarchs. My wife and I were in awe. The butterflies were hanging from large Eucalyptus trees in clusters. The butterflies blended perfectly with the decor of the tree. Every now and then one would leave the safety of the tree and float aimless around and then return to its perch.
According to the experts on site, thousands of butterflies visit Pismo Beach November through February of each year. They told us that generation after generation of Monarchs return to the same site the same time every years. According to the guide the population of the creatures has been dropping rapidly. When I ask him why he stated, "I believe its because of environmental pollution."
It would be ashamed to lose these wonderful butterflies. The guide also told us the butterflies were not on the endangered species list but he felt it was only a matter of time before they did qualify.
