Wild Horses - Born to run and roam but if the Government has their way the wild mustangs in the USA will be treated like the indians of old, moved away from their homes and placed on reservations. Let the Horses run!
About a month ago I had the pleasure of running into an old friend on FaceBook.
My friend is a cowboy poet and has a ranch in Stage Coach, Nevada.
After talking for a while and catching up on who was were and all that facebook stuff we came to the subject of wild horses.
My friend, Harold Roy Miller who is a famous cowboy poet, a wild horse advocate and a good man told me about the plight of our wild mustangs and burros in Nevada.
Harold didn't know at the time I had a green website and supported proper treatment of animals.
Anyway, to make a long story short I started looking into the subject and I wasn't surprised, no I wasn't surprised to find out the horses were being rounded up and moved from their homes.
Hell fire, they did it to the indians why wouldn't they do it to the horses.
Of course, like most Americans I thought the horses were starving and being rounded up and moved to other areas of the country in order to survive. Again, I was not surprised to find out differently.
In an email from Harold Roy Miller who lives in Nevada... I learned the truth about the round ups.

"Bob the politicians want to round them up, and we don't want that.
They think there are to many and they are starving but it is actually the ranchers and the pipeline people that want the range for themselves.
The calico roundup happened about a month ago and there were a lot of horses that died because of it.
They rounded them up to send to a midwest state like Kansas or something when there was no reason for that they have to eat in Kansas also. so the round up was stupid.

Why don't they just let them run. Let them be free and leave them alone.
Let the wild horses spread their winds and continue to run.
I found this video on UTube...It is really neat to watch the horses run like the wind. Free indeed.
